Brad Smith is the author of numerous novels, including The Return of Kid Cooper, which won the Western Writers of America 2019 Spur Award for Best Traditional Novel. He has worked as a farmer, signalman, insulator, truck driver, bartender, schoolteacher, maintenance mechanic, roofer, and carpenter.
