Summary

Can two sisters, tragically divided by land and sea, reunite and reconcile before it’s too late? The Great Famine has arrived on Rathlin Island, and Nerissa has no choice but to fish in the stormy waters off Rathlin with Da. When they fail to return, Finella assumes her premonition of disaster has come true. Now alone, she must find a way to outwit the lascivious rent collector or be forced to leave the island for an uncertain future. However, instead of drowning with Da, Nerissa is rescued by Irvino, the rebellious young merman who magically changes her into a mermaid. Forbidden to interact with land-walkers, yet determined to seek out her sister, Nerissa must rely on cunning and courage as she challenges merfolk and sea monsters alike.
