Summary

Summary

When Mr. Burton Crane leases a house in the country, he expects it to be fully staffed … except, it isn’t. So Mr. Crane enlists his friend, Mrs. Falkener, to help interview his prospective cook, butler, housemaid, and general helper. Mr. Crane is especially drawn to the woman applying as cook, but Mrs. Falkener doesn’t like any of the candidates! Is she right to be suspicious? Who are these servants?

Mr. Crane overrules Mrs. Falkener and hires his new staff. Soon however, the housemaid, the butler, and the general helper are dismissed! Only the cook remains. This is a most improper scenario!
