Summary

By the end of Mrs. Pollifax Pursued, the beloved CIA agent was safely back home from Africa. But the danger that threatened her young friend, Kadi, was still lurking there. Dorothy Gilman’s fans rejoiced, for it meant that another adventure starring their favorite sleuth would soon be underway.

Now Emily Pollifax accompanies Kadi back to Africa, where their friend is to be crowned king of his small country. The festivities suddenly end when several people are slashed by murderous lion claws—but there are no lions in Ubangiba. In the resulting panic, a shadowy figure emerges, a lock is picked, and the young woman disappears.

Braving an assortment of physical trials and dangerous threats, Mrs. Pollifax carries on a search with her usual aplomb.
