Angelina Fisk is accustomed to proving herself in a male-dominated workplace. Still, when false accusations result in wrongful dismissal, she's left wondering how she'll ever find work again or cope with her growing cynicism toward men.

With unexpected time on her hands, Angelina takes her sister's place on holiday in France. Trouble is, she's going as a chaperone. A younger cousin believes herself madly in love with the handsome billionaire Julien Belliveau and has charmed two invitations to his chateau in Provence.

While an attentive host, Julien appears polite but inscrutable. Yet, clearly, he hides a dark secret. Sparks fly as Angelina determines to unravel the mystery while battling her own deepening attraction to this man she distrusts.
