The Edge of Fate

Summary

Fenric Feralas has a problem—either agree to assassinate the Necromancer of Boston, or lose his head. Taking the job under duress, Fenric heads right to the Necromancer and hopes to exchange what he knows for information about two old friends—only to come face to face with one of them in the midst of another assassination attempt.

Cian Brennan is not expecting to see Fenric—they last parted under extreme circumstances, at the dawn of a war that nearly killed Rory, and managed to drive Cian mad. Cian committed several murders while not in his right mind, and he'll be paying for it for the next thousand years.

Fenric spent over two centuries believing the Brennan twins dead, and when given a chance to reconnect with Cian, he takes it. He refuses to waste the second chance Fate has thrown his way, and his single-minded pursuit of Cian isn't as unwelcome as it might've been—Cian has missed Fenric just as much, and he's ready to see where Fate takes them, together. Dealing with an army of assassins, a precocious dragon, a petulant preteen necromancer, and a High Council of Sorcery that wants what Cian has is more than enough to drive anyone apart—but Cian and Fenric are ready to fight for their second chance at love and life.
