Summary

Far away, in the land between the mountains, 12 Minnipin villages are tucked in the bends of the Watercress River. In their thatched, green-doored houses, Muggles and the other Minnipins of Slipper-on-the-Water live peacefully, with plenty to eat and no enemies to fear. Suddenly one night, Muggles sees a strange glow on the distant mountain top. When she tries to alert her neighbors, she is ignored. Everyone is busy cleaning, hoping Slipper-on-the-Water will win the fabled Gammage Cup as prize for the finest village. Finally, Muggles and four other Minnipins must leave the security of their home. High in the mountain, they will face a hideous band of invaders. The imaginative world of the Minnipins has become a favorite fantasy of children of all ages. With Christina Moore's colorful narration, each Minnipin provides part of the gentle lessons about the powers of individuality and courage.
