Summary

Alec MacBriar crashes into the cottage of a healer and drops his wounded captain onto the table, commanding that the woman save his friend. Katie Oliver is terrified of the giants in her small home, but has no choice but to comply, hoping only to tend the wounded man and send them on their way, praying they cause no trouble to her or her son.

Her existence is meager, but for her son's sake Katie faces each new day with a brave conviction that things will get better. The goliaths in her home are sorely testing her resolve, especially Alec MacBriar with his intense gaze and fierce ways.

When Katie is threatened by a local man, Alec is compelled by his own captain to bring Katie and her son with them to their home in the Highlands. He'll keep his promise to his captain, but he wants nothing to do with Katie Oliver and her moody blue eyes or her charming child.

At Swordmair, Katie's life is far better and richer. In fact, it would be near perfect if not for the very disagreeable attraction she felt for Alec MacBriar and his bone-melting kisses.
