In the narrator’s dream, Christian follows the advice of Evangelist and leaves the City of Destruction for the Celestial City. Along the way, he meets Worldly Wiseman, Goodwill, Hypocrite, Apollyon, Faithful, Mr. Talksalot, Hopeful, Simpleton, and a host of other colorful characters. The journey is fraught with peril and requires every ounce of Christian’s strength and resolve, but he presses on with determination to leave his old life behind and experience eternal life in Christ.
