True North

Summary

The last time Louisa saw Harry Rawlins was the night he proposed to her after prom. After ten years of living thousands of miles away from her small hometown, she runs right back after a humiliating ending to her career. Diner work and the odd shift at the Italian restaurant she lives above has her fighting up from rock bottom.

But when the one person she has been hoping to avoid is a regular at the diner, she is faced with her past. And the hopes and dreams that died after she fled.

Harry Rawlins keeps his head down and works his fingers to the bone, if only to keep out of his old man's way. Nothing good comes from getting on his wrong side. It's been ten years since Louisa left. Still, every day she finds her way into his thoughts.

His world is tipped upside down on a regular trip into Lewistown to his favorite diner. Distraction is the last thing he needs. And bad turns to worse when he discovers some other guy has her attention. The cards he has precariously stacked, to keep him and his Ma fed and housed, come tumbling down. One after the other.
