Summary

John Puller is a combat vet and now the best military investigator in the US Army’s Criminal Investigative Division. Puller is a loner with few possessions and fewer friends by preference, but he has an indomitable spirit and an unstoppable motor for finding the truth. Puller is called out on a case in a remote, rural area far from any military outpost. Someone has stumbled onto a brutally murdered family at their home. The dead husband was in the army and the wife worked for a Pentagon contractor. The local homicide detective, a woman with personal demons of her own, clashes with Puller over the investigation. As Puller digs through deception after deception, he realizes that absolutely nothing he’s seen so far in this small town, and no one in it, are what they seem. He is truly one man against an overwhelming force.
